(upbeat music) – Hey everyone, Kayley here.
Or is it my evil twin, I havethe dark hair wig out today so I can show you guys somebraids on brunette hair that doesn't show dimensionin braids as easily, therefore, makes them harder to see.
This has been sorequested 'cause I get it, those of you guys who havedarker hair if you start piling on the braids, itjust looks kinda confusing so I wanted to share sometips and tricks as well as hairstyles that I thinkwill help you to have a better time with puttingyour hairstyles together.
So that being said, let's get into it.
Tip number one is to work with shape.
For this hairstyle, I'musing one single braid that goes into a bun, which is gonna help bring attention to that braid.
Start by sectioning a mohawksection of hair in the back, then dutch braid thatsection all the way down and secure it with an elastic.
Now bring the rest ofthe hair together into a low ponytail and makesure that as you do that, the braid doesn't get covered by any hair.
On the last rotation of theelastic, leave your hair looped.
And if you like, you canwrap some hair around the elastic to finish it off.
And that's it.
I think things like thisare great for dark hair because the eye canstill take them in easily but it doesn't sacrifice style.
Tip number two, play with color.
Because it's harder to seedimension on dark hair, you can add in elements likea scarf to create dimension.
Start by pulling your hairup into a high ponytail or a half up ponytailand then fold your scarf so it is the length of your hair and use it as one section of your braid.
And braid all the way downand secure it with an elastic.
Now wrap it into a bun, pinin place and you're done.
I think scarves are gonnabe a great accessory this spring and summer butespecially in the hair.
Tip number three, keep the lines clean.
When you wanna rock multiple braids, go for ones that areclearly defined instead of stacked all over each other.
For this I'm gonna startby making a mohawk section and once that's ready togo, french braid all of that hair and secure it atthe nape of the neck.
Then on one side, dutchbraid the remaining hair back and secure that at thenape of the neck as well.
And repeat that on the other side.
Now take the remaining hairand braid it all together, all the way down andsecure it with an elastic.
And once you've done that, this hairstyle is done.
It's still very festival, bohemian braided but you can still easily see the braids.
And finally, accessorize! One more wat to bringattention to dark braids, is to pull out the accessories.
Start by parting your hair on one side and then dutch braid your hair on the side that has less hair.
Start at your part andbring the braid down, ending an inch behind your ear.
Then braid the rest of the hair normally.
For accessories, thereare a ton of options but I decided to grab some stud earrings and put them through thebraid, using the earring back to hold them in place.
It doesn't have to be alot but a little extra something can really make a braid pop so I encourage you to playaround and find your sweet spot with accessories in your braids.
So there you go, those are some hairstyles that you can wear withdark hair that doesn't show dimension as well to stillmake your braids pop.
